Ina Pogainis, 71

Ina Pogainis, 71, Stevens Point, died May 11, 2021, at home.

Ina was born in a Displaced Persons camp in Germany, the youngest child of Edmunds and Olga Pogainis. The family came to America in 1951 and lived in South Dakota for several years before moving to Wisconsin.

Ina earned her law degree at UW-Madison and worked in the Public Defenders office her entire career.

She leaves behind her brothers, Andrejs and Max, a handful of nephews and nieces in this country, and some cousins in her parents’ homeland of Latvia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Juris, and a sister, Laura, who perished during World War Two. Mils paldies, Intz.

A visitation for friends and family to share memories will be held from 12-2 PM on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Shuda Funeral Chapel – 3200 Stanley St. Stevens Point.
