Henrietta V. Gilmeister, 87

Henrietta V. Gilmeister, 87, of Stevens Point, died on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Aspirus St. Michael’s Hospital.

Henrietta was born May 14, 1935, in the town of Franzen. She was the daughter of Henry and Laura (Stroik) Mlodik. On August 4, 1956, Henrietta was united in marriage to Leonard E. Gilmeister at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2003.

Henrietta was a homemaker. She took joy in raising her children and watching her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching football, listening to Polkas, and having the companionship of her cat. Henrietta was a member of the Rosary Society Rose 18.

Henrietta is survived by her children: Bryan (Cindy) Gilmeister of Plover, Dale (Sherry) Gilmeister of Stevens Point, Doreen (Keith) Repinski of Amherst, Scott (Dawn) Gilmeister of Stevens Point, and Lee (Stacy) Gilmeister of Eland; grandchildren, Zakk (Amanda) Gilmeister, Ashley (Ben) Bailey, Jessica Gilmeister, Tim (Mariah) Gilmeister, Heather (Mike) Trzinski, Becky (Beau) Meddaugh, Cody Freer, Adam Gilmeister, Kalee Gilmeister, Laura Gilmeister, and Megan Gilmeister; step-grandchildren, Jason, Robert, Keith, Jessica and Kenny; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one brother-in-law Ernest Simkowski and two sisters-in-law, Shirley Gilmeister and Joanne Mlodik; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Laura Mlodik; husband Leonard Gilmeister; brothers, Richard, Hubert, and Gerald; sister Loretta Laska-Simkowski.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2022, at St. Peter Catholic Church. Rev. Arul Joseph Visuvasam officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Friday in the Faustina Room of St. Peter Catholic Church until the time for mass.
