Gladys M. Pampuch, 93

Gladys M. Pampuch, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Gladys was born March 19, 1931 in the town of Stockton, Portage Co.

She is the daughter of the late Alois and Margaret (née Wojtalewicz) Wisinski.

Gladys spent her early years on the Stockton farm until the family moved to Stevens Point where she attended local schools. It was in Milwaukee where she met her husband, Clarence Pampuch. They were united in marriage on March 15, 1952 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Stevens Point.

Clarence was in the United States Air Force at the time of their marriage, so she moved back in with her parents until March of 1953, and then they moved back to Milwaukee. Gladys worked on the motor line at Briggs and Stratton for many years, they then decided to buy a bar in the Town of Stockton, C & G’s Country Corners Bar where they ran it successfully for almost 20 years and then they retired.

Gladys was a very energetic woman and always on the go, from taking care of her mother, to having Packer parties or having buck parties during hunting season. She was very active in her church, St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church in Custer. She was a member of the Altar Society, a Communion Distributor, usher and organized card parties.

Gladys is survived by her two children; Linda Holmes of Custer and Wayne (Joanne) Pampuch of Mequon, Wis.; her three grandsons; Jeff Holmes of Stevens Point, Jason (Kelly) Holmes of Rosholt, and Eric (Elizabeth) Pampuch of Wauwatosa, Wis.; 10 great grandchildren, Mykenna (Nik) Felton, Jaxon, Tysen, Taydn, Taeya, and Raeya, Nora, Emren Vera Holmes and Olive Pampuch; two brothers, Ernest (Mary) Wisinski and Donald (Kathy) Wisinski; one sister MaryAnn (Cliff) Pflugradt, all of Stevens Point; and four sisters-in-law, Leona Pampuch, Phyllis Pampuch, Lee Wisinski, and Dorothy Wisinski.

She was preceded in death by husband Clarence, her parents, Alois and Margaret Wisinski, a granddaughter Dana Marie, brothers Chester and Leonard Wisinski, and sisters Irene Skiba and Theresa Yenter.

The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice for their loving care they have given Gladys up to her peaceful passing.

We are very grateful for the compassionate care they showed our family in our time of need, and a special thank you to Deb Sniadajewski for her helping Linda with her chores.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7176 Esker Rd., Custer. Rev Mark Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
