Mid-State Technical College celebrated the seven students who completed the Fuse Your Future summer program on June 29.

Each student has earned three college credits in the areas of print reading and gas tungsten arc welding during the month of June and received a Fuse Your Future: Gas Tungsten Arc Welding local certificate.

The Fuse Your Future summer program was made possible by funding from the Central Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance (CWIMA).

According to Ryan Kawski, dean of the School of Applied Technology, the Fuse Your Future: Gas Tungsten Arc Welding local certificate is a great way to enter the field of welding or get a head start in Mid-State’s Welding program.

“This is our second year offering the Fuse Your Future summer welding program, and this class marks the second cohort of completers,” Kawski added.

According to Kawski, two additional cohorts were added this summer to meet the local demand for this type of training, thanks to its partnership with CWIMA. The additional cohorts are underway and will wrap up their programs in August.
