A trio of diehard movie fans wanted to get the best seats possible for the newest Marvel movie.

Ben Hable, Corey Scharrer, and Alan Briggs, all of Stevens Point, arrived at Rogers Cinema 7, 2725 Church St., at 10 a.m. on April 25.

“We’ve seen a lot of people drive by, but a lot of people said they were buying tickets for tomorrow,” Halbe said. “We’re not sure people actually know it’s coming out today.”

The fourth in the “Avengers” series and 21st in the Marvel movie run, “Endgame” premiered locally at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

The trio pitched a screen tent to shelter themselves from the rainy weather. For lunch, the group set up a grill and cooked brats from Ski’s Meat Market “just like tailgating”, Briggs said.

At about 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, the three were watching “Avengers: Infinity Wars” on a smartphone propped up on a table.

“Gotta watch the last one to get psyched up for the new one,” Scharrer said, adding the three haven’t stood on line for a Marvel movie in the past, but they have for “Star Wars”.

“That’s where you typically see costumes,” Briggs said, “but not so much for ‘Avengers’.”

“People kept going around the ice shanty, going inside and getting tickets,” Scharrer said. “We couldn’t hear them from inside.”

“Yeah, we had a hard time getting seats for that one,” Briggs said. “We didn’t want that to happen again.”

“We haven’t seen that in a while, most people who do that show up for Star Wars” Alan Briggs, Stevens Point. “We had a tough time getting seats last time.”

“Avengers: Endgame” is rated PG-13 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Don Cheadle.
