Dorothy M. Polum, age 89

Dorothy M. Polum, age 89, of Stevens Point, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Aspirus Stevens Point.

A daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Eron) Flaig, Sr. she was born on April 1, 1933, on the family farm in Rudolph. On October 12, 1953, at St. Phillip Catholic Church in Rudolph, she was united in marriage to Vincent D. Polum. The couple owned and operated their dairy farm until retiring in 1990.

Dorothy was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and a Trustee at Catholic Financial. In her free time, she enjoyed church picnics, traveling, bingo, gardening, and an occasional trip to the Casino. She is survived by her children, Diane (Phillip) Haffenbredl of Stevens Point, Shirley (Gary)
Koziczkowski of Stevens Point, Beverly (Edwin) Rucinski of Mosinee, and Duane (Peggy) Polum of Stevens Point; grandchildren, Brian (Kami) Haffenbredl, Karen (Francis) Wysocki, Dale Koziczkowski, Karl Koziczkowski, Roxanne Rucinski, Kenneth Rucinski, Katelynn (Dan) Managan, Madeline Polum, Jared Polum; eight great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Germaine Flaig, Alice (Don) Young, Irene
(Dennis) Lepper, Beverly Polum, Pauline Polum, and Theresa Polum; brothers-in-law, Bobby Polum, David Polum, and Richard Polum; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Vincent on September 15, 2020; granddaughter, Crystal Polum; sister, Lillian Cisewski; brothers, Paul Flaig, Jr. and Hank Flaig.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 2493 County Road M, Stevens Point, Wis. 54481, with Rev. Dennis Stanchik presiding. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to a Visitation at Pisarski Community Funeral Home, 2911 Plover Rd., Plover, Wis. 54467 on Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. concluding with a Parish Rosary being prayed. Visitation will continue on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the mass.
