DNR To Host PFAS External Advisory Group Meeting On Friday, Feb. 17, 2023

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will host the next PFAS External Advisory Group (EAG) meeting from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, 2023.

Agenda items include member input on work prioritization and planning for 2023. Additionally, information about PFAS initiatives in Gov. Evers’ proposed state budget will be shared.

This is a working meeting of the EAG. While the public is invited to attend, there may not be opportunities to engage in the discussion. Questions may be submitted in advance to [email protected]. PFAS are a group of human-made chemicals used for decades in numerous products, including non-stick cookware, fast food wrappers, stain-resistant sprays and certain types of firefighting foam. These legacy contaminants have made their way into the environment in a variety of ways, including spills of PFAS-containing materials, discharges of PFAS-containing wastewater to treatment plants, and use of certain types of firefighting foams.
