Dennis “Denny” Norbert Worzalla, 79

Dennis “Denny” Norbert Worzalla, age 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 27 2022 at his home in Whiting, with his wife at his side.

He was born July 3, 1943 in Stevens Point to Norbert and Roxye (Zellmer) Worzalla. He was the oldest of eight children. He was united in marriage to Mary M. Strasser on February 8, 1964.

Dennis was employed for many years at Montgomery Wards in downtown Stevens Point. With his experience from Montgomery selling furnaces and water heaters, he then started Worzalla Heating & Cooling. The business continues to this day under his son, Michael Worzalla.

He also built many homes under the name Superior Homes and worked closely with many local contractors including his good friend Ken Lepak. He was a founding member and former President of the Golden Sands Homebuilders Association.

Dennis was an avid golfer and enjoyed Men’s Day at the Wisconsin River Country Club with his friend Ken, usually followed by a quick stop at Congress.

He had many friends in the local community and was known for his talkative nature. It was once said, that if you asked Dennis what time it was; he would give it to you, but then tell you how to make a watch.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Mary Worzalla; daughter, Denise Worzalla-Rocha; son, Michael (Carla) Worzalla; grandchildren, Karissa Friday; Hallie Worzalla; Jessica (Adam) Bemowski; Maggi Rocha; great-grandchildren: Shane, Kessa, and Benjamin; siblings Katie, Carol, Nancy, Paul; and many relatives and friends. He is also survived by HIS dog “the dog he never wanted, but now would never let her go,” Ms. Fluffy.

Dennis was preceded in death by; his parents, brothers, Tommy and Jeff, and sister, Peggy.

Special thanks to Jenny, Tara, and Nikki, his at-home caregivers who helped let him finish his life the way he lived it, on his terms.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at 6 p.m. at the Pisarski Funeral Home 703 Second Street Stevens Point. Deacon Ray Heitzinger will officiate. Visitation on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Burial will take place on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Guardian Angel Cemetery.
