DEC The Company to perform March 7

Metro Wire Staff

DEC The Company will perform Saturday, March 7, at 7 p.m. at Sentry Theater @1800.

The Company consists of 17 dancers from SPASH, Pacelli High School, P.J. Jacobs Junior High School, Ben Franklin Junior High School, and Mosinee Middle School. Ballet, jazz, modern, tap and contemporary dances will be performed.

Some dances demonstrate a technique, some strive for artistry, some are process-based and some provide entertainment. Choreography is from students, instructors, and guest choreographers. UW-Milwaukee Dance Department and UW-Madison Dance Department will also perform.

Dance Education Center founded DEC The Company in 2015 with the mission to provide a pre-professional experience for dancers to develop artistry, create works that demonstrate a high level of composition and choreography and embrace additional performance opportunities, while supporting fellow company members holistically.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for students. A grab-bag fundraiser will also be held to raise funds for an international dance conference in Holland, Michigan.

Show tickets may be purchased through the Dance Education Center website at www.danceeducationcenter.com. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Proceeds from the show will benefit the Playhouse Theatre Group of Central Wisconsin.
