Creta V. Burhans, 97

Creta V. Burhans, 97, of Stevens Point, formerly of Brule, Wisconsin, was called home by her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on July 27, 2019, at WillowBrook Assisted Living, Stevens Point. 

Born December 22, 1921, to Clyde and Edna Schermerhorn in Cloverland Township, Brule, Wis. 

She married Leland Burhans on November 1, 1941. 

Creta worked as an LPN. She enjoyed singing, dancing and traveling, going to Vienna, Austria, with the Northwest Wisconsin Community Choir, mission trips to New York City and Mexico, and across the US with her children to visit family. 

She is survived by her children: Mrs. William (Virginia) Wiemer, Edward (Terry) Burhans, Mrs. Benny (Alice) Johnson; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and siblings.

Celebration of Life Memorial services scheduled at REFUGE Church (formerly GNFC) in Stevens Point on Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, with visitation from 6-7 p.m. The service will begin at 7 with Pastor Matthew Mallek officiating. Another service will be held at Cloverland Bible Baptist Church in Maple, Wis., on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019. Visitation will be held 2-3 p.m., with a service to begin at 3. Pastor Jon Arneson will be officiating.

Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery Cloverland, Wisc.
