Catholic school system hires new elementary principal

By Patrick Lynn

Pacelli Catholic Schools announced this week it hired a new principal for its two elementary schools.

Jamie Nowinski will take over St. Bronislava in Plover and St. Stephen in Stevens Point. She replaces Dr. Greg Kaster, who assumed the role last year.

Nowinski is a veteran educator who taught junior high school English, language arts, and reading, for 18 years throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago. Most recently, according to a news release from PCS, she served as principal of St. Patricia School in Hickory Hills, Ill., for the past six years—where she led efforts to expand enrollment there, by over 17 percent.

Nowinski earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Governors State University in University Park, Ill., and her master’s degree in educational leadership with a Type 75 Certification from Concordia University Chicago in River Forest, Ill. She is also an Archdiocese of Chicago Leadership Academy graduate.

Nowinski will be relocating to the Stevens Point area this summer with her husband Joe of 37 years. Together they have two children and two grandchildren.

“I am passionate about leading in an atmosphere where faith and creative teaching create a community of active learners,” said Nowinski in the press release. “I strive to encourage others to reach their highest capabilities and accomplish their goals.”
