Boys & Girls Club to debut renovated Plover Center

Metro Wire Staff

The Plover Center of the Boys and Girls Club has a big debut planned for April 21.

A grand reveal celebration is planned that Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the club’s newly-remodeled space, 2401 Cedar Dr. in Plover, part of the club’s “Building Great Futures” capital campaign.

As part of the campaign, nearly $1 million was invested in the new space, thanks to “many” community donors, according to a press release from the club.

New and improved spaces in the Plover Center include a larger cafeteria space, art room, new gymnasium floor, learning center, teen room, technology lab, dance room, games room, renovated bathrooms, an elevator for improved accessibility, and offices.

The Village of Plover acquired the former Royalwood Sports Center in 2005, and have since donated the use of space through a long-term, rent-free lease agreement with the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County.

All families and community members are invited to attend for a free lunch, door prizes, a variety of family fun activities, demonstrations, and more. A free club t-shirt will be given out to the first 100 new Plover Center Club members.
