Ann Cecilia Bruske, 95

Ann Cecilia Bruske, age 95, Stevens Point, passed away on June 23 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Plover to Polish immigrants, Thomas and Emily Pasciak.

She attended Roosevelt grade school and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1944. From 1944-1950, Ann worked at Hardware Mutual (Sentry). In 1950, she married Edmund J. Bruske and they moved to West Allis. She worked at Harnischfeger until they returned to Stevens Point in 1956. Ann worked at IGA/Copps for 30+ years and served as the Town of Stockton Treasurer from 1991-2008.

Ann was feisty, independent, and determined. The word “impossible” was not in her vocabulary. No ride to the town dance? Four to five miles in heels is a nice walk! Chipmunks eating her beautiful flowers? Give them silk ones to munch! Ann had endless stories to tell of her life, and her matter-of-fact storytelling will be missed. Bingo, gardening, and puzzles were some of the activities that she enjoyed. She was a loving wife and mother, a hands-on grandmother, and an affectionate GG to her great-grandchildren. Her faith was a very important part of her life. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and Sacred Heart Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund, and son-in-law, Bruce, and five siblings. She is survived by two children: Jerry (Veronica) Bruske and Debbie (Bruce) Adamski; three grandchildren: Russell Kezeske, Ronald (Aschley) Kezeske, and Rachel (Matthew) Volchko; and four great-grandchildren: Conner, Caleb, Corbin, and Eleanore.

The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice, especially Lisa and Kari, for the care they gave her.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ann will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Polonia. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 4-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel, 3200 Stanley St., Stevens Point.

A General Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 at Shuda’s. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday morning from 10-10:45 a.m. at Shuda’s, no visitation will be conducted at the church.
