William “Bill” E. Bemowski, 82

William “Bill” E. Bemowski, 82, of Stevens Point, died peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at his home, surrounded by love from his wife, Vivian, and his children.

Bill was born to Barbara (née Chojnacki) and Henry S. Bemowski, Sr. on December 22, 1941 in Stevens Point.

He married the love of his life, Vivian (Hicks) on September 22, 1962 at St. Peter Catholic Church.

Bill was a proud resident of Stevens Point his whole life. After graduation from P.J. Jacobs High School, he worked at the UWSP power plant and Weber Plastics, followed by a 25-year-career at Worzalla Publishing, from where he retired. He and Vivian raised their family together on the West side of Stevens Point, where they enjoyed beautiful views of Mead Park and the Wisconsin River. Bill enjoyed getting together with his kids, their partners, and all of his grandchildren.

Bill’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, grilling, and watching sports of all kinds. He was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan, even when they were losing. He loved fixing things around the house and coming up with creative solutions to problems.

He was always willing to drive somewhere when his kids needed something, could pack a moving truck like a pro, and usually had a camera or video camera at the ready. Bill enjoyed playing games on his computer, and doing challenging jigsaw puzzles until his rheumatoid arthritis made it too difficult. Without fail, Bill could be found listening to polkas every Saturday and Sunday morning. In his eyes, it wasn’t a weekend without his beloved polkas playing in the background.

Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Vivian, seven children: Eric (Lisa), Junction City; Kevin, Stevens Point; Todd, Waupaca; Kim (Tim Olson), Wausau; Brad (Tyler Beaudette), Altoona; Heidi (Jerry Chapa), Green Bay; and Amber (Dustin Kitzman), Stevens Point; 13 grandchildren: Ryan (Tara), Mariah (Kyle), Alicia (Scott), McKenna, Ben, Abby (Ben), Tessa (Lucero), Logan, RaeAnn, Elijah, Aubree, Ashlee, and Owen; 4 great-grandchildren; and his siblings Hank (Mary Ellen), Myron (Dell), and Lori.

Bill is preceded in death by his infant son, Brian, his daughter-in-law Linda, his sister Marge (Jankovitz), his parents Barbara and Henry, and his faithful dog, Stormy (She was the best dog ever).

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the family. For online condolences please visit www.pisarskifuneralhome.com
