Suspect in Lindbergh Ave. assault sought by police

Stevens Point police need the public’s help in locating the suspect in a Friday morning assault.

Officers were called to the 2700 block of Lindbergh Ave. shortly before 2:30 a.m. Friday morning after two women were assaulted by a man with a baseball bat.

The suspect was tentatively identified as 32-year-old Lavonte Green of Stevens Point, who fled the scene before police arrived.

Police say two women were struck during the attack. One received severe injuries to her head, and another woman was injured on her arm.
