Stockton man dies in ATV crash

The 50-year-old Stockton resident is dead following an ATV crash on Sunday, according to the Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Mike Lukas said Keith A. Hoffman was pronounced dead at the scene. No other people or vehicles were involved, Lukas said.

Dispatchers received the 911 call at about 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 20. According to Lukas, Hoffman lost control of his ATV while traveling west on the 6600 block of 2nd St. in Stockton. Hoffman’s ATV entered a northside ditch and was ejected from the vehicle and struck his head.

Life-saving measures were attempted several times, Lukas said.

Portage County Ambulance, Stockton Fire and EMS, and Portage County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is investigating the crash.
