Metro Wire Staff

About 3,000 family members and friends attended the SPASH commencement ceremony on Sunday.

The Class of 2022 has 547 graduates. Most received their diplomas from SPASH on May 29. Additional ceremonies were held earlier this week for graduates from the Charles Fernandez Alternative High School, Project Search, and the school’s special education department.

An additional ceremony will be held on June 9 for graduates from the Wisconsin Challenge Academy.

There was no keynote speaker but students Rachael Jorgensen and Yaemeshka Yang addressed their fellow graduates, and School Board President Meg Erler also made remarks.

The SPASH Senior Orchestra students performed Antonio Vivaldi’s “Spring” from “The Four Seasons,” and the senior concert choir performed the popular 1972 song by Bill Withers, “Lean on Me.”
