Scott D. Smrz, 61

Scott D. Smrz, 61, of Plover, passed away Friday morning, April 12, 2024, at his home.

He was born February 6, 1963, in Stevens Point, the son of the late Eugene and Jeanette (née Shopinski) Smrz. Scott attended local grade schools and graduated from Stevens Point Area Senior High (SPASH) in 1981. On August 27, 1993, he married Lisa Likely in Stevens Point. Scott worked as a shift supervisor for Domtar Papers in Nekoosa until his retirement two years ago.

In his free time, Scott enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and camping with his son Josh, watching football, attending car races throughout the state, and practicing target shooting as a gun enthusiast.

Scott is survived by his wife Lisa, their son Josh, daughter Taylor, stepdaughter Jade Likely, and brother Tom Smrz. He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.

Memorials in Scott’s name to the Portage County Humane Society are appreciated.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 2911 Plover Rd., Plover, with Deacon Vern Linzmeier officiating. A private family burial will take place at St. Michael’s Parish Cemetery of Junction City at a later date.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Pisarski Funeral Home until the time of services.
