Young men and women ages 5 to 14 recently finished a skills camp in preparation for the 2024 baseball/softball season.

Plover-Whiting Youth Athletics (PWYA) and the UWSP Athletic Department held their third annual Baseball/Softball Skills Camp at the UWSP MAC Center on March 10.

Just under 200 young athletes attended the free camp, which provided breakout sessions focusing on hitting, fielding flies, fielding grounders, throwing, and pitching.

The sessions were facilitated by the UWSP coaching staff, area high school coaches, PWYA coaches, current UWSP players, and UWSP alumni players.

PWYA introduced the clinic as a way to introduce youngsters to fundamental baseball and softball skills and allowed young players to work with players and coaches of a higher level who want to share their love for baseball and softball in a fun, safe, and interactive environment.
