Though plans may have been delayed, Pacelli Catholic Schools will host an open house retirement celebration for former administrator Gregg Hansel.

Hansel retired after 36 years with the school system in June.

Since starting with PCS in 1984, Hansel has held many positions in every school building including campus minister, religion teacher, principal, president, and most recently, director of education.

Through the course of his career, he was principal of two-time US Department of Education National Blue Ribbon Award-winning and 2015 Today’s Catholic Teacher Innovations in Catholic Education Award-winning elementary schools and was named a Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Leadership Award recipient in 2017.

The celebration will be held outdoors at Pacelli Catholic High School on Saturday, Sept. from noon to 3 p.m.

Current and former students and parents, co-workers, friends, family, and fellow community members are all invited to attend. Masks and social distancing are strongly recommended.
