Feb. 25

Passed out: Deputies were called to Division and Clark streets at 4:10 a.m. when a caller reported someone “passed out behind the wheel at the intersection.” No further details were released.

Tsk, tsk: A Deputies cited a 20-year-old man for operating without a license and speeding near mile marker 169 on I-39 at 5 a.m.

Fight: Deputies were called to the 7800 block of 4th Ave. in Almond at 6:36 a.m. when a caller reported a fight between a 32-year-old man and a woman, age 25. No further details were released.

Vaper: A school resource officer cited a minor student for possession of a vaping device at Ben Franklin Jr. High, 2000 Polk St., at 10:15 a.m.

Hunters: Deputies were called to the 8200 block of Evergreen Ave. in Wisconsin Rapids at 1:18 p.m. when a man reported finding fresh footprints on his property leading to the road where a white pickup truck was previously parked. He suspected coyote hunters were on his property.

Welfare check: Police were called to Clark and Water streets at 1:31 p.m. when a 36-year-old woman reported being approached by a young girl, who appeared to be about 16 years old, asking to use the woman’s phone and saying she was leaving town. When police found the teen, walking alone without a purse or bag, on the Clark St. Bridge, they learned she was actually 18 and not in need of assistance.

Crash: Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on the 1400 block of Wisconsin St. at 2:28 p.m. There were no injuries. No further information was released.

Theft: A 53-year-old man called police to Tru Green, 1709 Patch St., at 2:31 p.m. to report an unknown person stole a catalytic converter from a company vehicle.

Theft: A caller on the 2100 block of Madison St. reported to police at 3:55 p.m. that a portable blue tooth speaker and other items reported as stolen had shown up at a pawn shop. No further details were released.

Harassment: Police were called to the 300 block of North Point Dr. at 7:50 p.m. when a 42-year-old man complained that his ex-girlfriend was sending people to drive by his residence and harass him.

Dim: A 31-year-old man was given a warning for driving without headlights at Minnesota Ave. and Dixon St. at 10:30 p.m.

Feb. 26

Snowed: Police stopped to check on a vehicle that had driven into a snowbank on the 300 block of North Point Dr. at 1:25 a.m. The motorist and vehicle were okay.

Hotel hooligans: Police were called to the Knights Inn, 3421 Church St., at 2:09 a.m. when a caller reported that several hours before, there were several individuals involved with “guns, drugs, drinking” but had since left the property.

Loiterer: Police were asked to conduct a welfare check on a man “sitting in the snow rocking back and forth” behind Holy Spirit Parish, 838 Fremont St., and 8:30 a.m. No further details were released.

Oops: Police were called to Kwik Trip, 1600 Maria Dr., at 11:24 a.m. when a motorist, whose age and gender were not included in the media report, pulled into the car wash and “damaged the machine and a vehicle.” No further details were released.

Crash: Police were called to a parking lot crash between two vehicles at Fazolli’s, 5665 Hwy. 10 East, at 11:52 a.m. There were no injuries.

Blackmail: A 23-year-old man came to the police department to report “people have pictures of him” and were trying to blackmail him. No further details were released.

Bad ex: Police were called to the 400 block of West St. North at 1:09 p.m. when a 29-year-old man reported his ex-girlfriend, 25, was posting inappropriate photos of him on social media.

Welfare check: Police were called to the 500 block of Washington Ave. at 3:43 p.m. when a 58-year-old woman said she was afraid of her 59-year-old male roommate and had locked herself in her bedroom. No further details were released.

Revving: Deputies took a complaint from a caller on the 7800 block of County Hwy. D in Almond that two motorists drove by his house “revving their engines” at 3:50 p.m. No further information was released.

Papers, please: Deputies gave a verbal warning at 4:38 p.m. to a 42-year-old woman at Water St. and Arlington Pl. for improper display of registration sticker.

Suspended: Deputies cited a 28-year-old man for operating while suspended at 5:17 p.m. near County Hwy. HH and Mainland. The man was also given a verbal warning for having an expired registration.

Crash: Deputies were called to assist a 32-year-old man whose vehicle was stuck in a snowbank near mile marker 139 on I-39 at 5:32 p.m.

Threat: A 28-year-old woman called deputies to the 5400 block of County Hwy. W in Pine Grove at 7:41 p.m. to complain a man, age 47, was revving his engine in front of her trailer home. No further details were released.

Bad driving: Police were called to Fourth Ave. and Reserve St at 8:48 p.m. when a caller reported a black pickup truck “blew a stop sign” at Fremont St. and nearly struck another vehicle. No further details were released.

Suspended: A 33-year-old man was cited for operating after suspension on the 500 block of Division St. at 9:39 p.m.

Theft: A 39-year-old woman called police to the 2000 block of Polk St. at 9:23 p.m. to report her husband, also 39, had stolen her car, a 2008 white Ford Edge. No further details were released.

Oversold: A caller called Portage Co. dispatch at 10:24 p.m. seeking assistance on an ongoing parking issue in Stevens Point Municipal Lot No. 16, located downtown between Strongs Ave. and Third St. The caller, who has a parking permit for the lot, reported all the stalls were taken and they were unable to park. No further details were released.

Gun: A 51-year-old woman called police to Buffy’s, 1331 Second St., at 10:55 p.m. to report a man with a gun was making threats. No further details were released.

Doper: Police were called to La Quinta Inn, 4927 Main St., at 11:58 p.m., when a caller reported witnessing someone “inject some sort of drug” while in the lobby, then enter one of the hotel rooms where a party was being held. No further details were released.

Feb. 27

Domestic: Police were called to an apartment on the 600 block of John’s Dr. at 12:23 a.m. when a caller reported a disturbance in one of the homes there with “hearing, fighting, banging around.” No further details were released.

Wrong-way: Police cited a 25-year-old man for driving the wrong way on Clark St. at the Wyatt Ave. intersection at 2:43 a.m.

Big brass ones: A woman called deputies to the 2600 block of Porter Rd. at 6:42 a.m. report her estranged husband, age 51, took $400 from her bank account. The woman’s purse was later found in a stolen vehicle. No further details were released. 

Expired: A 20-year-old woman was cited for expired registration and expired insurance during a traffic stop at West Clark St. and West River Dr. at 9:27 a.m.

Welfare check: A woman, whose age was not listed in the media blotter, called 911 at 2:31 to say she was missing her deceased father. Police were sent to conduct a welfare check on the woman. No further details were released.

Can’t let go: A 40-year-old woman called deputies to the 7000 block of Esker Rd. in Custer at 7:58 p.m. to report her boyfriend’s ex-wife was harassing the couple. 

Drive & dash: Police were called to BP, 2733 Stanley St., at 8:37 p.m., when a 60-year-old man pumped $50.40 in gas but was unable to pay because his debit card did not work. The man left his contact information at the counter and said he would return to pay but did not.

Knife: Police were asked to conduct a welfare check on a 38-year-old man on the 1700 block of Monroe St. at 10:08 p.m. because he was “ranting and raving with a knife” in his apartment. No further details were released.

Feb. 28

Mom: Police were called to the 2900 block of Fawn Ln. in Plover at 1:14 a.m. when an 18-year-old woman called 911 to say her mother, 44, left the home with unknown weapons. No further details were released. 

Jerks: Police were called to the 2900 block of McCulloch St. at 3:34 a.m. when a 22-year-old man reported he was being threatened by two other men, ages 31 and 20. No further details were released.
