Police & Sheriff calls, April 14-16

April 14

Flasher: A 64-year-old man called police to the 2200 block of Wyatt Ave. at 12:59 a.m. to report that an unknown person was in his yard with a flashlight. No further details were included in the blotter.

Tanked at Taco Bell: Police were called to Taco Bell, 433 Division St., at 1:08 a.m. when an employee reported a drunk motorist was in the drive-thru. No further details were included in the blotter.

Underager: Police responded to Top Hat Bar, 1346 Third St., at 1:09 a.m. when an employee reported “three or four” underage blonde females in the bar. One 20-year-old woman was arrested.

So busted: Police arrested a 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman on charges of possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstruction during a traffic stop at Division and Brawley streets at 2:05 a.m.

Dude: A 22-year-old man called police to the 1600 block of College Ave. at 2:30 a.m. to report that his skateboard was stolen by four people in a passing pickup truck.

Suspicious: Police were called to Kwik Trip, 3258 Church St, at 2:39 a.m. when an employee reported a suspicious man in the store who was whispering to himself and may have stolen some over-the-counter medication from the store.

Late party: Police responded to a home on the 800 block of Second St. at 3:49 a.m. when someone complained about a loud outdoor party with a campfire. The residents were advised to turn the music down.

Fire: Police and fire crews responded to 1504 Water St. at 6:38 a.m. for a house fire. There were no injuries.

Mail thief: A 65-year-old woman complained to police at 8:59 a.m. that someone had taken a bill from her mailbox, tore it up, and discarded it a block from her home on the 1400 block of West Pearl St.

Crash: Police responded to a minor two-vehicle collision at Kwik Trip 3258 Church St., at 5:16 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Threats: Police responded to the 700 block of John’s Dr. at 7:39 p.m. when a 41-year-old reported he was being threatened during a verbal altercation. No further details were included in the blotter.

Speeders: Police warned a 21-year-old man for speeding on West River Dr. at 8 p.m. Moments later, a 22-year-old man was also issued a warning for speeding in the same area.

Another speeder: A 17-year-old girl was cited for speeding on West River Dr. at 8:11 p.m.

Serial shoplifter: Police were called to Target, 5300 Hwy. 10 East, at 11:52 a.m., to report that a 22-year-old suspect had stolen over $500 in merchandise from the store over the span of “a couple of trips.” No further details were included in the blotter.

Domestic: Police responded to a home on Elk St. at 12:26 p.m. when a caller reported that a woman took a knife into the bathroom. No further details were included in the blotter.

Crash: Officers were called to Church and Rice streets at 12:35 p.m. for a two-vehicle collision. No injuries were reported.

Harasser: A 65-year-old man walked into the police department at 3:39 p.m. to report he was being harassed by a woman, age 64. No further details were included in the blotter.

Break-in: A 37-year-old woman called police to the Econo Lodge, 5110 Main St., at 3:39 p.m. to report that a 34-year-old woman had broken into her room.

Extra patrol: Neighbors requested police conduct extra patrol for speeders in the area of the 3200 block of Jefferson St. at 5:37 p.m.

Wanderer: A 26-year-old man called police to the 3200 block of Minnesota Ave. at 9:46 p.m. to report seeing an unknown suspicious person walking on his property via a doorbell camera.

In the park after dark: Police observed a motorcycle operator in Iverson Park at 2:37 a.m. The motorist, a man, also had a suspended license and was told he needed to find another way home.
