Plover welcomes scout on badge assignment

Plover rarely experiences much of an audience during village board meetings—but the meetings do seem to be a destination for local Boy Scouts.

Mason Meixner, 17, was the latest in a series of local scouts to attend a village board meeting while working towards a Citizenship in the Community merit badge.

Scouts typically attend with their parents for village meetings, most saying the village was chosen because of the board’s efficiency and concise movements. Scouts are recognized by the board and invited to introduce themselves during the meeting.

Meixner, a member of Troop 205 from Good Shepard Lutheran Church, told the board he was two badges away from Eagle Scout.

The recent SPASH grad plans to attend Fox Valley Tech to study aviation.
