Staffing shortage affect downtown library hours

Metro Wire Staff

All four branches of the Portage County Public Library are open for normal indoor business, but staffing shortages with affect the hours of the downtown branch.

According to Library Director Larry Oathout, COVID-19 has created staffing shortages at 1001 Main St. in downtown Stevens Point.

Because of staffing shortages, the downtown branch will adjust hours this week. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

All other branches are open as scheduled, Oathout said.

The library has branches in Stevens Point, Plover, Almond, and Rosholt. For more information call the main branch at 715.346.1544
