Letter: Thankful for community support in Poppy drive

To the Editor-

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and Auxiliary 10262 wish to thank all the area businesses and individuals who donated to our recent Poppy drive.

Also, a big thank you to all the volunteers who made this happen.

The poppies are assembled by veterans who receive a small payment. They are then distributed by our veteran and Auxiliary volunteers. The profits are then used for all the veterans’ programs. So, it is a full circle.

Donations from the profits go to Unmet Needs program for veterans, donations to VA hospitals, scholarships, the VFW National Home for Children, and other veteran related programs.
