Letter: Local electeds should receive additional training

To the Editor-

We, the residents of Portage County, Wisconsin expect our leaders to have a thorough understanding of parliamentary procedure and call them out when they fail its overarching principles.

It is our duty to ensure positive, respectful changes in government by keeping the meetings moving smoothly which behooves us to learn as much as we can about it.

There are web-based courses available.

Basic Courses:

There is a National Association of Parliamentarians Training Conference, 8-11 September 2022, Hotel Albuquerque, Albuquerque, NM.  There is also a unit of the National Association of Parliamentarians in Madison and another in Wauwatosa, Wis. for support.
