Letter: Community group works to clear misconceptions
To The Editor-
During recent months, Freedom Fighters have been attacked on social media, in various publications, and in letters to the editor. Questions have been raised about the goals and motivations of the group. We have been unjustly labeled radical, far-right, extremists—therefore, it is important to set the record straight.
Let’s start with our name. “Freedom” is the first word in our name because that’s our focus, the freedom our founders enshrined in our United States Constitution for all Americans. We’re also “fighters” because the natural tendency of government at all levels is increasing control, overreach, and eventually, tyranny.
Freedom is worth fighting for; not only for ourselves, for future generations.
Freedom Fighters of Central Wisconsin was born July 7, 2020. The group was started by a handful of passionate and concerned citizens of Portage County. Freedom Fighters is a movement and a community group that provides a platform for local and state networking to preserve not only our freedoms but the integrity in which they are provided.
With God leading the way, we network, organize and unite to create change together and we bring forward the voice of the people. Freedom Fighters of Central Wisconsin is “We The People.”
Our Mission statement:
The Freedom Fighters of Central Wisconsin will be an instrumental force to carry forward and preserve our God-given rights, Liberties & Freedom as Americans. These duties bestowed upon us and our patriotic members form a shield of impenetrable character and steadfast courage to always do what is right by our community and America. “Fortune Favors the Brave.”
Freedom Fighters are here because many believe they are experiencing the loss of their freedom and liberty. We owe it to our children and each other to stand up and say no. We encourage everyone to get involved.
People are tired of the local school, city, county, and health department boards who clearly have their own agenda and refuse to hear us. People are tired of watching the tyrannical agenda and government overreach stripping away the rights of “We The People.”
We are working to gain back control of what our children are being taught in schools and to have the voices of parents and community members heard by the elected officials and representatives who took an oath to uphold the Constitution and to represent the people. We stand against what’s wrong and we use the Constitution as our guide. The Freedom Fighters team would like to thank everyone for getting involved in creating unity and change in our community.
