Ignite, UWSP to host conference on entrepreneurship, success

Two local organizations are partnering to offer insight on entrepreneurship and career advancement.

Ignite Young Professionals and UW-Stevens Point will come together on April 27 to present “Get on Track with PoCo Professionals,” a three-hour conference targeting professionals, job-seekers, and individuals interested in starting their own businesses.

Jeff Ebel of Midwest Wealth Ventures will provide the keynote address, discussing different facets of business ownership. Afterward, the conference will be divided into two

Local entrepreneurs from Siren Shrub and Curbwise will offer their experiences and challenges associated with starting a new business in the 21st century.

Executives from Skyward and Greenheck will discuss what they believe are necessary skills for the next generation of business leaders. They’ll focus on succession planning, the importance of communication, and the process of receiving the reins of a thriving business that’ll need excellent leadership to grow and maintain what has already been built.

Admission is $10 for community members, and free to Ignite members and UWSP students with an ID, and networking will follow the event. Appetizers and beverages will be available and attendees will leave with a special gift bag.
