County parks suspend reservations until June

The Portage Co. Parks Department has suspended reservations until June.

Camping or lodge reservations cannot be made through June 1, according to a news release from the department. It’s another measure by the county to help slow the spread of COVID-19, the release said.

The county still plans to open campgrounds on May 1, but users will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Anyone using county parks, trails, and other facilities, are still encouraged to maintain six feet of space from others and practice frequent handwashing.

Portage Co. operates more than two dozen parks and recreation acres. More information can be found on the county’s website.
