Worzalla is asking the community to join its holiday-giving efforts.

The local book publisher is collecting food, clothing, household items, and other in-demand items for those in need in Portage County.

Worzalla associates have already collected donations to brighten the holidays for many families in need through Operation Bootstrap and The Salvation Army.

“Worzalla associates are inviting their neighbors, friends, and family members in the greater Stevens Point community to brighten the holidays for those in need,” said Brianne Petruzalek, Vice President of Human Resources at Worzalla. “The Salvation Army is looking for support in many different forms this holiday season and Worzalla’s community giving tree is one of the many ways our associates and the community can give back.”

A Giving Tree is set up in Worzalla’s lobby, located at 3535 Jefferson St. in Stevens Point. Community members can stop by and donate their items through Dec. 21 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

When donating, the public can take a ticket from the giving tree, and write their name and phone number on the ticket to be entered into a raffle. Tickets will be entered into a drawing that will be held on Dec. 22, to win ‘A Book a Month in 2023’ from Worzalla.

The Salvation Army says that they are in most need of the following items:

Peanut butter
Canned soup
Canned fruit
Canned vegetables
Canned fish
Canned beans
Pasta
Rice
Applesauce
Crackers
Granola Bars
Toothpaste
Toothbrushes
Bar soap and body wash
