Jimmy Dale Stutesman, 82

Jimmy Dale Stutesman, age 82 of Bancroft, took his last cross-country trip to high altitudes on February 28, 2022, at home under the care of Aspirus Hospice.

He was born November 28, 1939, in Gower, Missouri is preceded in death by his father, Charles Joseph “CJ” Stutesman, and his mother, Ruth LaRue (Witt), and an older brother, Charles Stutesman.

He is survived by his wife, Denise (Haviland), and his children Forrest Glenn Stutesman (Louise) Puyallup, Wash., and their children, Jennifer and Amanda. Rocky Stutesman Bancroft, Wis., and his children, Colter, Tony, Amanda, and Brad. Randy Stutesman (Dana) Stevens Point, Wis., and their children, Kara and Kayla. Becky Last Cottage Grove, Wis., and her children, Dirk and Tess. Myrna Goerger, Stevens Point, Wis. and her child, Ethan. His stepsons Jason Bickford (Kylie) Mosinee, Wis. and Brant Bickford Dayton, Ohio, and their child, Hanna.

He grew up and attended school in Edgerton, Missouri. Departing at an early age he entered the Air Force. Of the 10 years spent there, six-and-a-half were spent overseas, in Explosive Ordnance Disposal.
His life’s work in aviation started in 1966 as a crop duster.

He worked in numerous states over his lifetime. He started Farmers Flying Service, Inc. in 1967 in Antigo, Wis.,  then moved the business to Bancroft, Wis. in 1970. For six years he also did aerial firebombing in Necedah, Wis.

He later relocated his business and bought Northland Aviation, Inc. in Edgeley, North Dakota.
Finally moving on to be a pilot for hire. In 2020, after 54 years, in the crop dusting business, he called it quits.

By his wishes, he will be cremated, having a private ceremony at a later date.
