Call For Nominations: Landfill Rulemaking Advisory Committee
The DNR’s Waste and Materials Management Program is updating code language related to landfill design and operation, owner financial responsibility and solid waste fees. An advisory committee is being developed to assist with that process by providing advice and feedback on proposals.
In addition to soliciting nominations from members of the Waste and Materials Management Study Group, we will consider self-nominations from people active in the solid waste industry, consultants, and environmental or public interest groups to join the advisory committee. Committee meetings, held virtually with an in-person option in Madison, would be managed by DNR and open to the public. Tentative dates are April 19, June 21, Aug. 16, Oct. 18, 2023, and Jan. 10, 2024. The scope statement describing rulemaking topics can be found by searching for WA-11-22 at the DNR’s proposed permanent administrative rules webpage.

- Name, email and phone number
- Brief description of experience or interest in landfills or solid waste management
- Issues of interest related to this rulemaking
DNR will compile nominations with those from members of the Waste and Materials Management Study Group to determine committee membership. All nominees will be notified by March 3.
