No one injured in Hull car fire

By Brandi Makuski

Hull firefighters say no one was injured during a car fire on May 15.

Emergency crews were called to 3598 East Maria Dr. on Monday when someone called 911.

Assistant Fire Chief Matt Schneeberg said upon arrival, Hull fire crews encountered a “fully involved car fire” in front of a home there.

“We extinguished it in about five minutes with a couple hundred gallons of water,” he said, adding the car was a total loss.

The road was closed to traffic with assistance from the Stevens Point Police Department and Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office.

The car fire was located near some power lines, so Wisconsin Public Service was also called to inspect the lines.

Crews were at the scene for just under an hour, Schneeberg said.
