Roger L. Myhre, 80

Roger L. Myhre, age 80, of Stevens Point, entered his eternal life, surrounded by his loving family on October 24, 2023.

Roger was born November 14, 1942, to the late Lilah and Lief Myhre of Viroqua, Wis.

As a young boy, he grew up in Newton Valley, Wis., and then moved to Viroqua. He attended Viroqua High School. After high school, he relocated to Stevens Point.

He served his country in the National Guard for five years. Roger worked various jobs with a construction company and learned the trade of carpentry. He loved building and remodeling homes. In 1972, he started his career at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point as a custodian and retired as a mailroom supervisor in 2000.

He married Ruth N. Moss on February 27, 1965, at the Assembly of God Church in Stevens Point.

After his retirement, Roger and his wife Ruth went to the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, a 24/7 prayer mission base. They were on staff for five years. He ministered in the healing rooms and did various carpenter jobs for the mission base. After five years in Kansas City, he relocated to Gurnee, Ill. with his wife. In 2011, he and his wife returned to Stevens Point.

Roger was a dedicated husband and loved his wife unconditionally. His family also meant the world to him. He was a man of the bible and prayer. Each day you could find him early in the morning reading the bible/bible related books and praying for his family. He was a man of great integrity. He enjoyed the atmosphere of the woods. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and vacationing. He loved grilling and cooking up a good fish fry, and of course the Green Bay Packers.

He is loved by those who remain, Ruth Myhre (wife), two sons, Jeff (Charity), Eric (Shawana), and two daughters, Tammy and Tasha. He was also blessed with 22 grand- and great-grandchildren.

An open visitation will be held, November 11, 2023, at Boston Funeral Home from 1-4 p.m.
