Paulette A. Blaskey, 76

Paulette A. Blaskey, of Custer, passed away peacefully at Dimensions Living in Stevens Point, on December 9, 2023, after battling Alzheimer’s, at the age of 76.

Paulette was born February 23, 1947, in Stevens Point; daughter of the late Dominic and Alice (née Grulkowski) Stroik. Paulette grew up in a large family as one of the oldest of 13 children. She often helped raise her younger siblings while also attending school. In 1965, she graduated from Maria High School, now known as Pacelli.

After high school, Paulette furthered her education by attending the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, earning a degree in business administration and economics. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in 1973.

On October 21, 1978, she married Gregory Blaskey. From that day forward, she proudly became a devoted wife, and eventually, mother. Not only did she care for their three children, she also diligently worked alongside her husband on their family farm. Once the children were grown, Paulette joined the workforce, working in the accounting department at Copps Grocery as well as the National Association for Retail Marketing Services until her retirement.

While Paulette devoted much of her life to her family, she was also an active volunteer at their church, sharing her bright personality with those around her. She was always upbeat and happy, especially when enjoying her favorite music, Polka.

Paulette is survived by her children, Gregory (Kari) Blaskey, Jr. of Custer, Nicholas (Katie) Blaskey of Custer, and Kelly (Chad) Radke of Wausau; and her grandchildren, Ryan Blaskey, Casey Blaskey, Gabriella Radke, Treydon Blaskey, and Joshua Radke. She is further survived by all 12 of her siblings, Judith Guzman of Peoria, Ill., Dominic (Judith) Stroik, Jr., of Jackson, Wis., William (Penelope) Stroik of Neenah, Thomas (Nancy Chartier) Stroik of Kansas City, MO, Richard (Kathryn) Stroik of Poway, Cali., David (Elizabeth) Stroik of Stevens Point, Carleen (Rick) King of Tomahawk, Ronald (Mary) Stroik of Stevens Point, Anita (Larry) Danczyk of Stevens Point, Renee (Thomas) Schneeberg of Stevens Point, WI, Karen (Jeffrey) Kubowski of West Bend, Wis., and Jaqueline (Mark Phillipi) Stroik of Stevens Point, a brother-in-law, Valerian Blaskey; a sister-in-law, Joan Raikowski; and many nieces and nephews.

Paulette was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory Blaskey Sr.; a son, Michael Blaskey; her parents, Dominic and Alice; a brother-in-law, Gregory Guzman; a sister-in-law, Michelle Bouisseau; and several more brothers- and sisters-in-law.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023, at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception, 7176 Esker Rd., Custer. Rev. Mark Miller will officiate. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Shuda Funeral Chapel, 3200 Stanley St., Stevens Point; and again on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s cemetery.
