Parishioners at St. Brons uphold annual motorcycle blessing, ride

By Brandi Makuski

Plover — Sue De Lisle, 67 of Stevens Point, almost missed the 5th annual Motorcycle Blessing and meal held Sunday at St. Bronislava Parish.

“I thought it was next weekend,” De Lisle said. “Lucky for me I made it to Mass and asked a parishioner who I knew was a rider if she was going to the event next weekend. She responded, ‘It’s today,’ so I hurried home and got my bike and made it here.”

De Lisle joined over 25 other bikers and passengers for a meal prepared by the St. Bronislava Council 13880 Knights of Columbus. The meal was followed by a prayer led by parish administrative pastor Fr. Jeff Hennes.

The event culminated in the roar of 23 motorcycles firing up and processing under the South parking lot portico to receive a sprinkling of holy water and a blessing from Fr. Hennes.

The annual ride, now in its fifth year, has become a cherished tradition at St. Bronislava Parish. Organized by the Knights of Columbus, the event brings together motorcycle enthusiasts from the community for a day of fellowship and spiritual enrichment.

The blessing ceremony, which includes a prayer for the safety and protection of the riders, is a highlight of the event, drawing participants from across the region.

St. Bronislava Parish, known for its active community involvement, continues to support various initiatives and events that promote camaraderie and faith among its members.

St. Bronislava Catholic Church is located at 3200 Plover Rd. in Plover.
