Jean Marie Gillis

In loving memory of our mother, Jean Marie Gillis, who passed away on December 14, 2023. She was born November 7, 1955 to Elmer and Lillian Osowski.

Our mom was a kind, caring and giving person. She was a lover of books, art, music, and nature. She brought joy to many with her Corn Baby creations and cringe-worthy jokes. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Growing up, mom was always there for us, whether we needed help with our homework or just a shoulder to cry on. She instilled in us the importance of hard work and doing what is right. Our mother was a true role model who we will always look up to.

Jean is survived by daughters Crystal Weir and Aimee (Daniel) Kontos; granddaughters Alex, Lily, and Alena. She is also survived by Pat Gillis; step-children Adam Gillis (Angel Gukenberger), Jason Gillis and Nicole (Jacob) Bain; step-grandchildren Sidney, Clara, Harper, William, Wyatt, Aria and Autumn.

She is further survived by siblings Linda (Chaz) Simonson, Paul (Patty) Osowski, Tom Osowski, Jerry (Deb) Osowski, David (Cindae) Osowski, Anita (Bruce) Ford, Angela Light, Philip Osowski, Pam Osowski, Maria Wolfe, Peggy (Nick) Elmhorst, and Patti Boettcher, in addition to many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Elmer and Lillian Osowski, sisters Joannie Brumbaugh and Nancy Spang, brother Jimmy Osowski, brother-in-law Jim Brumbaugh, and sister-in-law Pat Osowski.

A memorial service will be held at Pisarski Funeral Home in Plover, Wis., on December 21, 2023 at 12 p.m., with visitation from 10:30 a.m. to the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aspirus Cancer Care – Stevens Point where staff lovingly cared for our mom.

The Pisarski Community Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.pisarskifuneralhome.com
