Alan Alvick Meddaugh, 60

Alan Alvick Meddaugh, age 60, of Bancroft, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Monday, January 22, 2024.

He was born February 6, 1963, to Harvey W. and Shirley A. (née Meacham) Meddaugh. He married Sheila A. Smith on November 7, 1987. They built a home and grew their life together in Bancroft for the last 36 years.

Alan grew up in the Bancroft area, attending Almond-Bancroft High School. He graduated in 1981 and continued his education receiving his Master Plumber’s license, HVAC license, and Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (POWTS) Inspector. He owned and operated ELC Plumbing, LLC of Bancroft.

As an active member of his community, he belonged to the Bancroft Lions Club and Almond Snow Eagles Snowmobile Club. He volunteered for many years coaching his sons’ youth sports teams and never missed a chance to cheer on the Green Bay Packers.

Alan lived life to its fullest, greeted everyone with a smile and loved to help others. His love for his family was apparent. He always found an opportunity to work light-hearted jokes into conversation and get laughs out of everyone, creating countless memories for those he spent time with. His grandchildren made his day when they called or spent time with him.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sheila Meddaugh, Bancroft; three sons: Ethan (Megan) Meddaugh, Lucas (Rebecca) Meddaugh, and Cody Meddaugh; his grandchildren: Owen, Jocelyn, Mason, Nolan, Nellie, Reid, and Archer Meddaugh; His loving mother, Shirley Meddaugh; his brothers: Dale (Pam) Meddaugh, Mark Meddaugh, Wayne (Annette) Meddaugh; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carol and Arlyn Smith; further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends he would consider family. He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey W. Meddaugh.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Almond United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday, January 29, at the church and again on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund will be established at a later date to assist those going into Trades Programs to further their education.
