City streets crews installed the downtown Christmas tree on Nov. 28.

The 52-foot Norway spruce was harvested from the north side of SPASH, 1201 North Point Dr. According to Sarah O’Donnell, district communications manager, the city offered to plant three new trees on district property in exchange.

The tree was being installed in brisk 16-degree weather on Tuesday, just days before the downtown Christmas parade will be held.

This year’s parade starts at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1 on Main St. in downtown Stevens Point.
