Portage County — The Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Portage County says that vouchers for the 2024 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) are still available.

The vouchers allow eligible residents to purchase locally grown fresh produce, including fruits, vegetables, and herbs, at approved farmers markets and roadside stands.

The vouchers are being distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and must be used by Oct. 31, 2024. Seniors unable to attend a distribution day can call the ADRC at (715) 346-1401 for more information or to arrange for a proxy.

Eligible participants include individuals age 60 or older, as well as Native Americans age 55 or older, residing in Portage County with household incomes at or below $2,322 monthly ($27,861 annually) for a family size of one, and $3,152 monthly ($37,814 annually) for a family size of two. For households of three or more, income limits can be obtained by contacting the ADRC.

The ADRC is committed to ensuring equal opportunity for all participants.
