Regina “Jeannie” Marie Suchon, 82

Regina “Jeannie” Marie Suchon, 82, of Mount Enterprise, Texas, formerly of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Nacogdoches Medical Center while under hospice care.

Jeannie was born on April 4, 1942, in the Town of Carson, Wisconsin, to the late Sebastian “Sam” and Martha (Zywicki) Suchon. She attended local grade schools and graduated from Maria High School in Stevens Point.

In her early years, Jeannie worked for several local grocery stores and retail establishments, including The Triangle, Bob’s Flower Shop, and Westgate Foods. She later retired after many years as a cook for the Portage County Home. Even in retirement in Texas, she remained active, managing a local dry cleaner storefront at Craig’s Cleaners, where she worked four days per week and cherished the visits from her customers.

Jeannie was deeply involved in serving her community and church. She worked at St. Peter’s Church in Stevens Point, serving as the Religious Education Director for many years, spreading the word of the Lord. She also worked at the rectory and cooked for funeral luncheons for the parish. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church Rose Number 22 for many years.

After retiring, she moved to Texas in 2016 to live with her son Robert and his wife Roxanne. In Texas, she enjoyed attending Christian services at the local Bar None Cowboy Church in Tatum.

Jeannie’s favorite hobbies included reading, listening to Milwaukee Brewers radio broadcasts, feeding wild birds (especially cardinals), watching farm animals, and caring for her dog, Polka, who provided her comfort up to her final hours. She also enjoyed occasional visits to the casino and playing gambling apps on her tablet.

In addition to her son Robert (Roxanne) Suchon, survivors include her grandchildren Erik and Harrison, her godchildren Mary Chris, Donna Mae, Dennis, and John W., and numerous nieces and nephews whom she cherished. She was the last of her family of ten siblings and was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Martha, her sisters Vicki, Mary, and Helen, and her brothers John, Tony, Peter, Joseph, Leo, and Frank.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, with Rev. John Potaczek officiating. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning in the St. Faustina Room of St. Peter’s Church until the time for mass.

The Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.
