Polish choir coming to Stevens Point in July

Stevens Point — The University of Gdansk choir, Non Serio, will perform two free concerts in Stevens Point on July 3 and 5, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

The first concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, at the UW-Stevens Point Noel Fine Arts Center Michelsen Hall. It will feature UW-Stevens Point Mathematics Professor Andy Felt, who sang with the choir as a Fulbright Scholar in 2022.

Non Serio will also perform at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 5, at Stevens Point’s Riverfront Rendezvous at Pfiffner Pioner Park.

A Polish history lecture will precede the first concert at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, in Room 221 of the Noel Fine Arts Center. Speakers will include Malgorzata Geringer from the European Solidarity Center and John Harry, executive director of the Portage County Historical Society.

Formed in 1990, Non Serio has won numerous awards and is known for its diverse repertoire and humorous approach to music. During their U.S. tour, the choir will also perform in Chicago and New York City.
