Walk for Wags Event Set for June 23 at Pfiffner Pioneer Park

Stevens Point — The Humane Society of Portage County invites pet owners and animal lovers to the annual Walk for Wags event on Sunday, June 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pfiffner Pioneer Park.

The event will feature a variety of activities, including a 1.5-mile walk for leashed pets, a pet fashion and costume contest, kids’ games, and a basket raffle. Attendees can also enjoy music, face painting, and samples from Mission Coffee. Various vendors will showcase pet products and services, and food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Registration for walkers and their dogs begins at 10:30 a.m., with the walk starting at 11 a.m. All pets must be on a leash and current on vaccinations. Muzzles are required for dogs as needed.

The event will honor Portage County firefighters who saved animals in 2023. WSAW Channel 7’s Jeff Thelen will serve as the guest emcee.

10:30 a.m. — Registration
