Vista Sands Solar LLC is proposing a project that includes constructing a photovoltaic electric generating facility, a battery energy storage system, collector and project substations, a 345 kV generator tie line, and 138 kV collector transmission lines. The project aims to enhance energy reliability and sustainability in the region.

The project is spread over about about 8,600 acres in the towns of Buena Vista, Grant, and Plover, and would become the state’s largest solar development, according to the PSC.

Town of Plover Chairman Jim Garbe said the agreement was reached after “months and months of discussion and work” between the three municipalities and Vista Sands.
