STEVENS POINT — Workers set up carnival rides for this year’s Riverfront Rendezvous, which kicks off on Thursday.

Stevens Point is marking the 40th anniversary of its Riverfront Rendezvous with an enhanced lineup for its annual July 4th festival.

The free event, set for July 4-6 at Pfiffner Pioneer Park, will feature new headliners, expanded activities, and family-friendly features.

The festivities will begin with a parade at 10 a.m. on July 4 on Main Street, organized by the Stevens Point Alliance. This year’s musical headliners include Spin Doctors, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, and Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band. More than 20 bands will perform across three stages throughout the weekend.

In addition to live music, the festival will host a variety of activities, including the Carp Classic Fishing Contest, a pickleball tournament, inflatable games, carnival rides, and a cornhole tournament. A Kids Safety Day will feature an obstacle course, a car crash demonstration, and emergency vehicle displays.

The festival grounds have been expanded to Mead Park, providing additional space for vendors, food trucks, and family activities. The celebration will culminate in a fireworks display over the Wisconsin River on Saturday night.
