Stevens Point – Mid-State Technical College is celebrating the grand opening of its Wayne H. Bushman Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, and Apprenticeship (AMETA) Center with open houses for prospective students, community members, and education and business partners.

The open houses will be held Wednesday, July 24, from 1 to 7 p.m. and Thursday, July 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Attendees can stop in anytime during the open house hours to tour the brand-new, cutting-edge facility and witness first-hand the latest advancements and revolutionary technologies located within the Center. The open houses will also feature opportunities to meet with faculty to learn about the programs offered at the AMEA Center as well as the chance to network with industry leaders, educators, and fellow community members.

“Mid-State is very proud of the AMETA Center, and we can’t wait to welcome prospective students and community members to see our newest location,” said Ryan Kawski, dean of the School of Applied Technology. “Over 125 partners have come together to make the AMETA Center a reality. Together, we’re revitalizing industry and innovation in central Wisconsin, and we’re excited to share this with our community.”

The AMETA Center is a state-of-the-art training destination that will supply Wisconsin with highly skilled workers, address the workforce shortage, and sustain and grow area businesses. The Center is in the Stevens Point Industrial Park at 5000 Coye Dr.
