Stevens Point is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Riverfront Rendezvous with some new additions to the city’s annual July 4th festival.

The free event, scheduled for July 4-6, will include new headliners, expanded activities, and enhanced family-friendly features at Pfiffner Pioneer Park, 1100 Crosby Ave.

The weekend will kick off with a 10 a.m. July 4th parade on Main St. in downtown Stevens Point. The parade is organized by the Stevens Point Alliance (SPA), an organization of downtown businesses.

This year’s musical headliners include Spin Doctors, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, and Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band. The festival will have three stages of entertainment offering a diverse range of performances throughout the weekend.

In addition to the music, the festival will offer a variety of activities such as the Carp Classic Fishing Contest, a pickleball tournament, inflatable games, carnival rides, and a cornhole tournament.

The festival will also feature a Kids Safety Day with an obstacle course, a car crash demonstration, and emergency vehicle displays.

Again this year, the festival grounds have expanded across the Wisconsin River to include Mead Park, providing more space for vendors, food trucks, and additional family activities.

Fireworks will conclude the festivities on Saturday night, promising a “spectacular display” along the Wisconsin River.
