YMCA to host annual gymnastics invitational Oct. 17-19

STEVENS POINT – More than 400 gymnasts from across Wisconsin will gather in Stevens Point later this month for the annual Gymnastics SPIRITS Invitational at the Stevens Point Area YMCA.

The three-day event, set for Oct. 17-19 at the YMCA, 1000 Division St., will feature 10 teams competing in USGA Levels 1-8 and Xcel Levels Silver through Diamond.

Competitions begin Friday, Oct. 17, from 5:45 to 9:15 p.m., continue Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and wrap up Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for children, with no registration required.

“Our gymnasts have worked hard all season, and this invitational is their chance to shine,” said Kristy Bridenhagen, gymnastics director at the YMCA. “We’re thrilled to welcome teams from across the state and invite our community to cheer on these incredible athletes.”

The invitational emphasizes the YMCA’s mission of building community and providing opportunities for young athletes to grow.
