YMCA Spirits finish gymnastics season on top

The Stevens Point Area YMCA Spirits gymnastic have finished their 2022 competitive season.
The Level 5 team finished as YMCA State Champions, while the organization’s Level 6 team finished fourth overall.
The teams competed at the state competition held on March 19 and 20 in Sheboygan, the first in-person competition in two years. Over 650 gymnasts participated.
According to Kelly Caughlan from the YMCA, Stevens Point Spirits had 21 gymnasts qualify for state competition, with 46 percent of the athletes placing in one or more events.
