The Stevens Point Area YMCA on Wednesday announced it will reopen on June 1.

Following strict cleaning and sanitation guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control, the Portage Co. Health Dept., and the Wisconsin Dept. of Children and Families, the YMCA will offer full-time care for children ages six-weeks through 12 years.

The YMCA will also open Camp Glacier Hollow in Amherst Junction, and at the YMCA, 1000 Division St. in Stevens Point.

Hours of operation at the YMCA, 1000 Division St., are 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The YMCA will be open from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The facility will remain closed on Sundays.

The building will be open only to members age 16 and older under further notice. Social distancing will be required, and members are being asked to bring their own face masks. Some group classes will be restarted but with limited numbers.

The pool will be open to lap swimming only, with a limit of 30 minutes per person, until further notice.
